| Xe847 is a first-of-its-kind filter technology that produces digital photos and video that appear as seen through the human eye. It recalculates how a human would see a scene, by simulating lower physiological as well as some higher psychological effects. The process of "seeing" something is much more than just "measuring light". But unfortunately that's all even the best digital camera can do. This is where Xe847 steps in! It will change your pictures and videos so that they look much more like what you saw the moment you took that picture or video. Xe847 comes in many different flavors for all tastes: plug-in for Apple iPhoto, plug-in for Apple iMovie, plug-in for Photoshop (Mac and Windows) and standalone application for Mac and Windows. Xe847 is a very complex nonlinear professional-quality technology. It reduces color-shifts from ambient light or bad camera white balance, corrects contrast, brightness, gamma and gradation curves in a complex non-linear way, applies global and selective color corrections and makes blue sky, foliage and skin-tones look more natural. "Technology" in general is supposed to be smart. In this case, smart enough to acknowledge when the original data should not be altered. It is no challenge to write software that corrects color shifts, the real challenge is to know if there is a color shift at all. The other big challenge is to simulate how the human eye-brain would see that original data. What about Video? Xe847 is very robust. The bigger challenge than applying such an algorithm to a single image without getting into problems is to apply the algorithm to "moving pictures". Xe847 can be used to enhance video in the same way as still photos. Xe847 is predestined to go 'embedded' In order to be embedded in other products, technology must fulfill certain requirements: • Does not require human interaction, works fully automated • Is fast • Its code base (engine) is extremely small Xe847 matches all these requirements! Possible deployments of Xe847: • Implementation into digital cameras and digital videocameras • Impementation into Photo labs and minilabs • Video conferencing systems • TV broadcasting • Digital Cinema (D-Cinema) • Digital imaging software • Photo archiving software • DVD burning software • Video Editing software • Implementation into microchips Who developed Xe847? Digital Arts is a small team of highly skilled inventors, scientists and software experts who have been working in the area of digital image processing for more that 10 years. All development is exclusively done on Apple computers running Mac OS X. Only after the development process is completed, the software gets ported to other platforms. Digital Arts GmbH is the original developer of "Genetic Photo Optimizer" and co-founded Q-Research, Inc. in the Seattle area in June 1998, which later was renamed to QBeo, Inc. This technology was later known as the award-winning ImageOp technology. (The PhotoGenetics software, which is based on ImagOp was honored as “Consumer Product of the Year” 2000 by the Washington Software Alliance) The Xe847 technology was developed from scratch by the same team that created the ImageOp engine. Utilizing a completely different technology Xe847 takes digital imaging to a whole new level of quality and simplicity. |
