| XtraSens offers a new way to enhance images in Adobe Photoshop. The Retina plug-in is the most complete, quick and easy-to- use software for professional digital imaging results. New proprietary functions based on biological models of human vision help to enhance images and maximize the perceived contrast, brightness, sharpness, depth and resolution. The Retina Plug-In offers a total of twenty-two filters and functions. The new algorithms included in Retina, Digital Flash, AutoColor and the Perceptual Functions are combined in the easy to use Automatic, Landscape, Portrait, Macro and Advanced Mode. The XtraSens software helps you create excellent results with ease and speed, the Retina Plug-in complements the advanced features available in Adobe Photoshop A perceived increase in sharpness is a consequence of the local contrast modification; textures are accentuated without introducing noise common to traditional sharpening filters. A perceived increase in depth is due to a modification of intensity of pixels with similar characteristic of illumination in large areas of the picture i.e. mountains, water surfaces or the sky. Automatic Mode The Automatic Mode offers a single click enhancement option to improve texture, brightness, clarity and contrast of an image while preserving its color and avoiding burned areas. In the Portrait Mode the system will focus on the color temperature and texture of the skin. The color of eyes and hair will be accentuated and locally contrasted producing a local effect of brightness and contrast enhancement. Landscape Mode In the Landscape Mode the system is enhancing the perception of deepness of scene and compensate the over or under exposure caused by sun shine and shadows, the textures will be enhanced in a first phase, making important details visible again. Macro Mode In the Macro Mode the system will take accentuate the details and texture at the same time that erase the effect of compression artifacts , local effect of contrast will produce the perception of higher resolution at the same time that the color will be saturated pixel by pixel. Advanced Mode In Advanced Mode the user has full control over the results, he can view, use and change all filters and the parameters for the preset Modes (Automatic, Landscape, Portrait, Macro, and Advanced Mode). Retina can be described as a complex adaptive filter. It changes the local brightness through a reduction of intensity in over exposed areas and an amplification of intensity in underexposed areas of an image. Retina modifies local contrast pixel by pixel, while maintaining contrast in large areas of the picture. Digital Flash The Digital Flash is a complex adaptive filter. It maximizes the contrast and correct the luminosity, while also optimising the saturation. Similar to a traditional fill flash, the filter lightens darker areas and darkens lighter areas reducing the contrast and shadows of a picture. Auto Color The Auto Color feature corrects the image's shadows, highlights, and midtones to compensate for color shifts created from camera settings or imperfect lighting conditions. The filter adjusts the tonal levels thus balancing the color and maintaining the full range of neutral grays, and black and white. Perceptual Functions The Perceptual function calculate "safe parameter ranges" for the Contrast, Brightness, Gamma and the Tonal functions (Perceptual Shadows, Perceptual MidTones and Perceptual Highlights). For each picture the software determines a minimum and maximum range which can be applied for the Tonal, the Contrast, the Brightness, and Gamma functions taking advantage of the full data range to maximize image contrast without the loss of details, color change or the introduction of over or underexposed areas in the picture. |
