Microspot PhotoFix supports scanners, digital cameras and video captures

File Formats
The new version of PhotoFix supports a wide range of file formats. It will open and save PICT, PICT with Alpha Channel, PICT with JPEG, TIFF, TIFF with Alpha Channel, TIFF with LZW, EPS, EPS with Mask, JPEG, BMP and the super-fast PhotoFix 3.0 format. It will also open JPEG/JFIF, GIF, and Kodak PhotoCD file formats.

Special Effects
PhotoFix offers a bevy of special effects filters: Add Noise, Unsharp Mask, Dust and Scratches, Remove Noise, Distort 2D, Distort 3D, Shrink, Spherize, Custom Blur, Motion Blur, Posterize, AutoFix, Histogram, Hue/ Saturation, and Levels.

Other enhancements include an improved tool palette which lets you display tool settings directly from the Tool Setting's palette, as well as see the size and shape of any tool before using it.

Acquiring & Cataloging Images:
PhotoFix supports a wide range of file formats, including PICT, TIFF and EPS. It also supports most scanners via plug-ins, and allows you to create and store scanner profiles which you can automatically apply to scanned images. PhotoFix's integrated browser utility lets you catalog, view and retrieve frequently used images. While in the PhotoFix Browser, just double-click on the desired image to launch PhotoFix and load the chosen image.

Image Editing & Retouching:
PhotoFix offers a wide range of customizable painting, drawing and retouching tools, and numerous editing capabilities such as cloning, feathering and masking. You can choose from over a dozen special effects filters such as Add Noise, Distort 3D and Posterize (included), or apply third party plug-in filters like Kai's Power Tools.

You can also rotate, invert or crop PhotoCD images, as well as choose a resolution, before opening them. This can save valuable time when working with large images.

Color, Contrast & Brightness Corrections:
With the click of a button, PhotoFix automatically corrects the color, brightness and contrast of any image. You can also make manual corrections to images by adjusting the Red, Green, Blue, Brightness, and Contrast controls until you achieve the desired balance.

PhotoFix runs on just 3Mb of free RAM. It offers up to 32 levels of Undo, as well as a unique Quit Special feature which automatically saves your work when you need to make quick changes between applications, or when power failures or system crashes occur. Plug-ins for exporting CMYK files and for creating a separate text layer for printing high quality text on top of photographic images are also available.
