After many months of development and testing Dick Scherzinger presents the first of his Vue "CloudScapes" collections, the "CloudScapes Collection #1". The collection consists of 12 unique cloud layers along with 12 beautiful atmosphere examples. It a mix of various cloud types reaching from towering cumulus to whispy cirrus clouds. Care was taken to get them to appear as natural as possible, while keeping render times within certain limits.

The atmospheres (rendered samples of a few of them are shown at right) consist of: Altocumulus 1, Cirrus Sky, Cumulus Tower A, Evening Range, Front A, Getrays 2, Gold, Loose Bottom, Natural Clouds, Patches, Pink Haze and Whispy Red (Cumulus Tower A is shown in the screenshot above).

The Atmospheres can be imported into Vue and used immediately without further adjustments if desired. Each of the atmospheres uses one or several of the cloud layers which are also included in the collection. If you want to use a different cloud layer in your scene, delete the current one and load another layer from the collection.

The look of the cloud layers has been achieved by combining the options offered by the Vue cloud editors with a system of Metanodes. Those Metanodes all have their own easy-to-use editors and allow for enhanced control over Vue cloud layers. A Metanodes Reference (PDF) is included in the pack, which explains the parameters of the Metanodes, used to help obtain the look of the clouds. Another PDF provides you with informations on how to get more out of the "CloudScapes" collection.

This collection requires you to use Vue 8 or higher.
For a more in-depth discussion of Vue Spectral Clouds in Vue, Dick also offers CloudControl. CloudControl introduces you to a system of Metanodes which give unprecedented control over the distribution of clouds and helps you take full advantage of the CloudScapes collections.
