I've been working on this site for 35 years! The photo at left should look familiar – this is what you saw when you were in the process of being immortalized in black and white by my trusty camera. These image galleries are your time machine back to the early- to late-1970s up through 1980, when our class finally left the Butler educational system.

The galleries cover everything from our classes and lunch periods, working out our agressions and sports fantasies on the playground, class trips and events, our teachers, local Butler people and scenes – even Mike Cox has a gallery! These galleries contain photos from both Richard Butler School and Butler High School.

Each gallery will open in a new window so you don't lose this index list.

Why did I take all these photos? I have long been driven by some need to record the things around me. Many of these images were never enlarged or even contact printed; you are seeing many of them for the first time in decades. More surprising is that I was allowed to take a camera into the classroom in the first place! I guess you could say that this website is the main reason these photos exist.

My photos have been my own recollection of our school years. What would be fun for me is to see YOUR photos from these same locations and events! Please email me.
